Whittier YMCA: no plans to suspend services
WHITTIER — The YMCA of Greater Whittier currently has no plans to suspend its programs or services as a result of the coronavirus outbreak, according to President and CEO Curt Skotnicki.
Skotnicki made the announcement in an email Thursday.
“Our Y facilities are cleaned daily by a professional cleaning company,” Skotnicki wrote. “We are working to ensure extra care is taken by our own Y staff in high and low traffic areas during the day to wipe down equipment and shared services.
“The YMCA of Greater Whittier is committed to follow recommendations from the CDC and Los Angeles County Department of Public Health and we will continue to educate our members, program participants and staff on general flu-prevention practices.”
