Whittier man sentenced for killing girlfriend
WHITTIER — A man pleaded no contest this week for killing his live-in girlfriend whose body was found inside his vehicle parked at their Whittier home two years ago.
Luis Rey Jimenez, 46, pleaded no contest to one count of second-degree murder and admitted to using a wrench as a deadly and dangerous weapon.
He was immediately sentenced to 16 years to life in state prison.
According to the criminal complaint, Nadia Solís, 41, was killed on or about Dec. 30, 2018. Her body was discovered by Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies conducting a welfare check on Jan. 5, 2019, prosecutors said.
