Whittier Elks cancel spring dance
WHITTIER — Out of an abundance of caution, the Whittier Elks have canceled its Spring Special Needs Dance scheduled for April 19.
The cancellation was “in the best interest of all our guests,” the Elks said.
The event was a free lunch and dance for people with physical and/or intellectual disabilities.
Growing concern over the spreading of the novel coronavirus has prompted several event closures around the country and in Southern California, including at Whittier College, which suspended most major campus events through the end of this year.
There have been no confirmed cases in Whittier.
