Whittier City Hall shutting down tonight
WHITTIER — Whittier City Hall will close to the public at 5 p.m. Monday as the country tries to slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
In a news release, the City of Whittier said City Hall will close but city workers will be available via telephone and email.
Public safety and public utility crews will continue working, as will city inspectors.
As of 1:30 p.m., Whittier restaurants remain open, although many have closed their dining rooms and offering curbside pickup, takeout, or delivery.
“We remain vigilant and engaged in the latest developments,” said Mayor Joe Vinatieri. “Our newest preventative measures will continue to address the goal of keeping our community healthy, limiting the potential for virus spread, and ensuring essential services are available. Please remember to check in on your neighbors via phone or email to ensure everyone is taken care of.”
