Whittier Chamber suspends all meetings, events through April 1
WHITTIER — In response to growing concerns over the coronavirus, the Whittier Area Chamber of Commerce has suspended all of its meetings, programs and events through April 1, including its annual meeting and installation.
Below is a statement provided by the chamber on its website:
Out of an abundance of caution, the Whittier Chamber is taking proactive measures to protect the health and well-being of our members, volunteers, staff and visitors. To help prevent the risk of Coronavirus occurrences in our community, the Whittier Chamber will be suspending all meetings, events and programs including Wake Up Whittier on March 18 and our Annual Meeting and Installation on April 1. We will reassess the situation after that time and make a determination of when our programs will resume.
While we will not be holding social gatherings, our doors at the Chamber office will remain open in the coming weeks so we can continue to serve as a resource to you and your business or organization. We ask that, if you have any questions, please contact us via phone or email.
As your Chamber, know that you can count on us to be the steady hand as we navigate this fluid situation. The disruption is far reaching, but we are engaged with local, state and national leaders and public health authorities. At the same time, we are providing information on important resources available, please check our website for the latest information.
In uncertain times like these, the Whittier Chamber is working to exercise its voice on behalf of our members and community in order to not only minimize the impact to our health and our economy, but also to chart a way forward to the strong and prosperous region to which we are deeply committed.
Thank you for being a member of the Whittier Chamber. Remember to continue to support local businesses. Together we will get through this.
