Needing blood donations for cancer patients, Red Cross comes to Whittier
The American Red Cross will host a pair of blood drives in Whittier this month in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Donors of all blood types, especially platelet donors and those with type O blood, are needed to ensure a stable supply for cancer patients and others this fall.
Breast cancer is the second most common cancer in women, and more than 268,000 women are expected to be diagnosed with breast cancer this year.
The Red Cross will be at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (15265 Mulberry Dr.) on Oct. 24 from 2:30-8:30 pm, and at the Whittier Masonic Lodge (7604 Greenleaf Ave.) on Oct. 28 from 1-7 p.m.
Donors will be entered into a chance to win a $500 gift card redeemable at hundreds of merchants.
Make an appointment by visiting RedCrossBlood.org or call (800) RED-CROSS.
