British brass band kicks off free concert series in Whittier
WHITTIER – First United Methodist Church of Whittier kicks off its Baxter Memorial Concert Series next week with a performance by the Golden State British Brass Band.

Sunday, Feb. 16, 3 p.m.
Golden State British Brass Band
The Golden State British Brass Band is one of the premiere British-style brass bands in the Los Angeles area. The band has performed at concerts all over Southern California including Disneyland, the Nixon Library, and the annual Queen’s Birthday Ball.
Sunday, March 15, 3 p.m.
Award-winning violinist Mischa Lefkowitz joined the Los Angeles Philharmonic in 1977 and plays in the First Violin Section as well as performing with the Philharmonic Chamber Music Society at Walt Disney Concert Hall.
Sunday, April 19, 3 p.m.
Crown City String Quartet
Based in the “Crown City” of Pasadena, these musicians have worked together in motion picture and TV recording studios and are current and former members and principal players of some of Southern California’s most renowned music organizations, including Los Angeles Opera Orchestra, Pasadena Symphony, Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, and the San Diego Symphony.
The concert series is free and open to the public. All performances are at First United Methodist Church of Whittier, 13222 Bailey St.
